Homemade Crockpot Jam

To be truly honest I had no idea what i was doing. Around where i live there are loads of wild blackberries and every time we went on family walks we picked loads. I ended up with a good 6 cups of blackberries. We washed them and then it was my task to figure out how to use them up. Looking through my cabinets I found jam sugar which has been there for a very long time. So i decided to make homemade jam. It couldn’t have been easier. I also didn’t want to sit there and mend the jam I just wanted it to slowly cook to bring out all the natural taste!

– 6 cups blackberries (could really be any)

– 2 1/2 cups of jam sugar

– 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

  1.  Mash all blackberries up
  2. Place everything now in crockpot and set it on high.
  3. Leave for about four hours (stir it every few hours)

It is finish really whenever it is to desire consistency you want. Add ingredients to your taste. If to runny then add more jam sugar. It will not be like store bought consistency as we are not adding loads of preservatives into the jam.

Once cooled i placed in jars (coffee jar, Nutella jar, etc.) and then placed in fridge ready to serve.
