Butter Cake with Fudge Brownie base

We all have hope and dreams in life. I dream big because why put a limit on a dream. I know with hard work and determination I will get what I want. I can’t wait to be in the kitchen all the time. I find so much peace in creating food and feeding others brings so much joy to me
Ingredients:

Brownie:

  • 140g  Chocolate (broken into pieces)
  • 50g Butter
  • 50g Brown sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 35g All purpose flour

Butter cake:

  • 120g Butter
  • 100g Sugar 
  • 2 Eggs
  • 120g  All purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp Baking powder
  • 50ml semi-skimmed milk

Method:

Line a  loaf pan with baking paper.

Preheat oven to 180C/350F.

To make brownie:

Melt chocolate and butter over low heat.

Remove and leave to cool slightly. Stir in brown sugar until blended.

Add in egg, mix well.

Fold in flour, mix until well combined.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Whilst this is cooking start to make the butter cake:

Beat butter and sugar until creamy.

Add in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Fold in sifted flour and baking powder, alternately add in fresh milk, mix to form batter.

After 15 minutes that the brownies have been cooking quickly remove it out of the oven and spread the butter cake batter over brownie, bake in oven at 160C/320F for 40 minutes or until cooked
